San Diego Courthouse Wedding

Kaitlyn and Ariel’s San Diego Courthouse Wedding

Y'all, let me set the record straight - courthouse weddings are where it's at! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Seriously, some of the most amazing weddings I've had the privilege to capture have been intimate elopements. There's a unique and undeniable beauty to these smaller ceremonies that just can't be replicated. If the thought of a big wedding gives you a headache, don't hesitate to opt for something small and meaningful like this.

Take Kaityln and Ariel, for example. They had the sweetest courthouse ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. After exchanging their heartfelt vows, they whisked off to a local restaurant to celebrate with their loved ones. It was the perfect balance - all the love and joy of a wedding without the stress of planning a grand affair. So, if you're looking to share your big day with others but want to keep it low-key, I highly recommend considering a courthouse wedding. Trust me, it's an experience you won't regret!

Downtown San Diego Engagement

Daisy and Steve’s Downtown San Diego Engagement

I was thrilled when Daisy and Steve expressed their interest in having their engagement photoshoot at two different locations. When we created the mood board for this shoot, our aim was to find a moody bar setting and capture some stunning sunset shots on a downtown rooftop.

After discussing our objectives for the shoot, I immediately started scouting for suitable locations. They desired a blend of both posed and candid photos. We spent approximately two hours shooting, and it was an absolute blast. The outcome exceeded our expectations!

Coronado Beach Wedding

Mckenna and Robby’s intimate San Diego Coronado beach elopement.

Mckenna and Robby's Coronado beach wedding beautifully blended the elements of a larger wedding celebration with the intimate atmosphere of an elopement. What does that mean exactly? I'm delighted you asked!

Many couples find themselves torn between having a grand wedding or opting for an intimate elopement. Mckenna and Robby discovered the perfect compromise. They chose to hold their ceremony on a public beach, inviting all their loved ones to witness their union. Right after the ceremony, they opted for a small dinner at a lovely restaurant, exclusively with immediate family members. Once the dinner concluded, they reserved a table at a local bar, extending an invitation to all their friends to join in the celebration.

Planning a wedding while considering the desires of both the couple and their families can be challenging. This approach provides an excellent option for those who wish to celebrate their special day without incurring exorbitant costs. It's a fantastic way to create lasting memories while maintaining a budget-friendly celebration.

La Jolla Beach Engagement

Sierra and Ernies candid San Diego beach elopement.

Let's talk about Sierra and Ernie's stunning engagement shoot. I was thrilled when we discussed this shoot over a call. When I asked if they were open to getting a little wet, their response was an enthusiastic "absolutely!" Right then, I knew it would be a tremendously enjoyable session.

One crucial aspect, in my opinion, is striking a balance between directing poses and allowing for authentic moments to unfold. The best photo shoots are the ones that give space for couples to be themselves while also ensuring their comfort. I never want to deliver an album filled with stiff, posed photos. On the other hand, I also understand the importance of providing some guidance and direction.

Ultimately, a perfect session culminates in authentic images that truly capture the essence of each couple. And I believe this beach shoot serves as a remarkable example of that!

Intimate Santa Barbara Wedding

Kirstin and Tyler’s intimate Santa Barbara wedding.

Kirstin and Tyler's Santa Barbara wedding was a day to remember. The day began in a picturesque Airbnb nestled in the hills, where the couple prepared for the big day. Despite the overcast skies, ceremony radiated warmth and joy as they exchanged vows at the iconic Arlington Theater.

Following the ceremony, I pulled Kirstin and Tyler over to the Santa Barbara Courthouse for their bride and groom session. Let me tell you, I was so blown away by the lush gardens and architecture of the courthouse. We had such a fun time capturing photos that would forever encapsulate their special day. Their reception took place at the enchanting Villa and Vine. Between the stunning flower arrangements, and the twinkle lights the venue provided a beautiful intimate atmosphere for their celebration.

For anyone that is getting married in the Santa Barbara area if you’re looking for an area to shoot photos outside of your ceremony site I’d highly suggest asking your photographer to bring you to the courthouse.
